Cats for Adoption: Mork and Mindy, and Kitten Collars for Sale!

Mork and Mindy

These darling twin kittens were found outside and have always been together. They loooove to play with jingle balls and are very active and energetic. They can be shy with strangers but are sweet once they know you. Mindy likes to cuddle, and Mork likes pets and scratches (although he does not appreciate being lugged around like a sack of wheat, thankyouverymuch).

You can check out some photos of them in their Petfinder profile.

If you are local you can also meet Mork & Mindy at the Robinson Petsmart. You can apply to adopt there, or online at http://tinyurl.com/pghcatapp

AND…don’t miss Anthony’s Pick of the Week Video! Rescuer Deana Ann Boggs helps maintain Pittsburgh CAT’s cats for adoption at Robinson PetSmart, and each week when she visits to clean cages and check on the cats for adoption she takes her son Anthony, who loves kitties and helps foster them too. Each week he picks a kitty or kitties to feature, and this week it’s Mork and Mindy. Click here to see the video on Facebook.

About those collars

You may have noticed they are wearing pretty and colorful collars. Rescuer and foster Debby Nicola makes those pretty and colorful collars and decorates them with flowers, bows and bling to help our cats be even cuter than they already are. They are 6-9 inch kitten size only breakaway collars available for $10.00 each to help support the medical needs for our foster cats. You can pick up locally in Brookline or they can be shipped for $3. Visit this post on Pittsburgh CAT’s Facebook page or contact me and I’ll put you in touch.

And here’s a gallery of cute kittens wearing them! Thanks to Tanya for taking extra photos last night! Looks like the little housepanther Jelly Bean thinks it’s also a toy.

Other ways you can help

It’s officially kitten season, and we’re getting lots of kittens in, and of course we still have many adults already in our care. We always welcome donations to help care for our kitties. Adoption fees cover only a fraction of what we spend on medical costs. You can donate via Paypal at [email protected] (If you don’t have Paypal, message us for other ways to donate.)

All of our cats are in foster homes, with foster parents bearing the brunt of the financial responsibility for their food and toys. If you’d like to donate items to our foster families, visit our Amazon wishlist at http://a.co/78yBZdF

Amazon Wish Lists

amazon wish list for kittens

The Amazon Wish List for our group’s foster kittens.

Many rescuers pay out of pocket for veterinary care and food but the costs of raising even the average litter of four healthy kittens is more than many people have, and many rescues have greater needs. Pittsburgh CAT has a number of wish lists that include foods for feeding neo-natal kittens like KMR, and other lists that include the best kitten foods, adult cat foods, food and materials for feral cats, and preferred toys and litter.

Can’t adopt? Foster! Can’t foster? Donate or volunteer.

There are so many ways you can help cats who need homes and care. You may not have room to adopt another cat, but can foster a cat or kitten for a few weeks. If not that, you can volunteer at a shelter or with a rescue, or donate. You do this because you love your cat, and by doing so you help all cats. No matter which of these actions you take, you help to save a life, and make life better for all cats.

  • Adopt one of the cats I’ve posted here, or from any shelter or rescue near you, or from Petfinder, to open up a space for another cat to be rescued and fostered.
  • Offer to foster cats or kittens for a shelter or rescue near you.
  • Volunteer at a shelter or rescue.
  • Find a group of volunteers who work with homeless cats and help them with their efforts.
  • Donate to a shelter or rescue near you.

If you can foster kittens or adults cats to help prepare them for a forever home, please run to your nearest shelter and find a cat who needs you! Anyone can help with this effort at any level, even if all you do is donate to a shelter or rescue so they can help to pay for the food or medications needed for their foster, or the spay/neuter/veterinary care during a clinic.

  • Linda Moore

I want to put it out there that there is a need for smaller kitten collars especially with fosters. Breeder bands tend to come off and the Velcro sticks to the bedding and stuff. Wish someone would make really small ones.

    • That’s why Debby made them, Linda! We have 250 kittens in foster, anything that makes them irresistible is good.

    • They are all cute! That’s a problem! The gallery of kittens aren’t up for adoption yet, but I don’t think they’ll last long.
