Cats for Adoption: Butch Cassidy and Sundance

Butch Cassidy
Butch Cassidy

Apparently, Butch Cassidy and Sundance need another hole in the wall to hang out. These two boys are young and were adopted together, but one human caretaker recently died of cancer and the other is unable to take care of them. They are healthy and very well-behaved young cats. Here’s more from Kopy Kat Sanctuary.

ADOPTABLE BROTHERS: Butch Cassidy is the compadre to Sundance Kid aka Sunny. They are 3 yr. old brothers who are the best of friends and are looking for a new home together. Butch is the black and white tuxedo with a sweet monkey face. Sunny is the gray and white tuxedo also with a sweet solid gray face!

Here is the real story of “BUTCH AND SUNDANCE” ….In the end of winter/early spring of 2012, Butch and Sundance and 2 sibblings and their momma were just abandoned in a box on a porch in Forest Hills. The person who found this box called the police to ask for help. The police then called Mary Kay owner of Antiques on Ardmore for help. She agreed to foster them at her home. The kittens were still very young and nursing. Momma was attentive and friendly. They were in excellent health and it appeared as tho someone had initally cared for them however we have no idea why they were abandoned outside

Mary Kay kept them warm, fed and loved them up. Along with the help of Kopy Kat they received vet care and were spayed and neutered. All were fabulous and friendly and happy when they went to Petco to be adopted. In time each cat got a home. Butch and Sundance were adopted together by an older couple. This couple loved and cared for these boys for almost 2 1/2 years.

Blissful life turned tragic when the husband suddenly died of cancer. The wife was not physically able to take care of them, so Butch and Sunny were sadly returned to the care of Kopy Kat Sanctuary and they have been in foster care since that time. Initially they were confused, sad and reluctant due to losing their people and home. But they were met with warmth and love in their foster home and they have adjusted well. They love attention and they are ready for their own very loving forever home.

Do you know anyone who is a wonderful cat mom or cat dad who is in need of 2 fabulous fun and loving, sweethearts? Perhaps you can help Butch and Sunny to write the best and new chapter to their story~ and to YOURS too!!! PLEASE share and help us find these 2 brothers a new home. Thank you!66

Butch and Sunny are located east of Pittsburgh. They are neutered, tested negative for feline leukemia and feline aids, and are UTD on vaccinations. PLEASE share and contact Kopy Kat Sanctuary for an adoption application if interested. Thank you.

About Kopy Kat Sanctuary

Kopy Kat Sanctuary
Kopy Kat Sanctuary

Kopy Kat Sanctuary is located in Delmont, PA, east of Pittsburgh. They are “a group of cat-loving women trying to improve the lives of a few felines” in their own homes and out of their own pockets as well as helping those in need with low-cost spay and neuter to help reduce the populations of homeless cats. They have no shelter, but have saved many lives. Visit their website for more information or visit their Facebook page. And if you can’t adopt or foster, make a small donation to help this very small sanctuary.

And read about other kittens and adult cats who are looking for homes.

Amazon Wish Lists

The Amazon Wish List for our group’s foster kittens.

I’ve lost count of the number of kittens in foster among our volunteers, and August is usually the month with the highest surrender numbers at Pittsburgh shelters. Part of the mission with TNR is to not return the kittens—once we’ve rescued them we socialize them and put them up for adoptiont.

Many rescuers pay out of pocket for veterinary care and food but the costs of raising even the average litter of four healthy kittens is more than many people have, and many rescues have greater needs, like Auntie. If you can help with just one purchase from the kitten wish list on Amazon.com you’d make some kittens and a rescuer very happy.

We have two wish lists at the moment, the one hosted by Margo which several of you have donated through already and a new one hosted by Tarra that includes items for adult cats.

Can’t adopt? Foster! Can’t foster? Donate or volunteer.

There are so many ways you can help cats who need homes and care. You may not have room to adopt another cat, but can foster a cat or kitten for a few weeks. If not that, you can volunteer at a shelter or with a rescue, or donate. You do this because you love your cat, and by doing so you help all cats. No matter which of these actions you take, you help to save a life, and make life better for all cats.

  • Adopt one of the cats I’ve posted here, or from any shelter or rescue near you, or from Petfinder, to open up a space for another cat to be rescued and fostered.
  • Offer to foster cats or kittens for a shelter or rescue near you.
  • Volunteer at a shelter or rescue.
  • Find a group of volunteers who work with homeless cats and help them with their efforts.
  • Donate to a shelter or rescue near you.

If you can foster kittens or adults cats to help prepare them for a forever home, please run to your nearest shelter and find a cat who needs you! Anyone can help with this effort at any level, even if all you do is donate to a shelter or rescue so they can help to pay for the food or medications needed for their foster, or the spay/neuter/veterinary care during a clinic.
