Cats for Adoption: A Bunch of Tabbies
I’d be just as handsome in a sun puddle on your floor as I am in my foster home. Don’t you think I’m handsome? And I’ll bring along one or two of my equally handsome and beautiful siblings so you can just sit and look at us all day. Doesn’t that sound like fun?
This family of six tabby cats (four pictured) were saved with 25 other kittens from a large colony that was trapped for spay and neutered and are a little over a year old. These are spayed and neutered, have been tested for FeLV and FIV and had all the necessary vaccinations. All are tabbies, with a mix of black tabbies and gray tabbies, friendly, playful, accustomed to other cats, dogs and people. They have been fostered since they were kittens by our featured foster household, where Baxter and Bailey live. All were rescued by, and available for adoption through, Frankie’s Friends.
ZZ looks like a zebra. “Love his stripes.” So his foster named him ZZ. “He is a TOTAL LOVEBUG!!!!!” He wants nothing more then to be held and loved. He is also very talkative. Will jibber jabber to her all the time too get attention or if she forgets to give him his canned food. He had to have most of his teeth pulled because of issues with his gums, but he is eating well.
Ike is a little scared about new things and he needs someone to take their time with him, but if you want someone to play with he’s worth the wait!
Crystal is a little scared of new people, but once she knows you, she is a love bug and wants held and wants back rubs. And she’s very pretty.

Layla and Dexter Need a Home or Foster Before Sunday
Layla and Dexter’s people have divorced, and their man has been taking care of them in their home. Their woman wants no parts of them, though initially she said she would. Their man travels quite a bit for his job and will move to an apartment after he closes on the sale of the house this weekend, and feels his two cats will be better off with someone else who can give them more attention. He’s been looking for an adoptive home for a while, knowing this was coming.
“I feel badly that my cats have somehow gotten caught up in all of this but I honestly have no alternative to giving them up. I have reached out to everyone I know and I just have not had any luck at all. I am happy to help whoever is willing to take them with a little money to help get them started with the care of Layla and Dexter along with the supplies I currently have to care for them.”
Layla is a female, age 10 and Dexter is a male age 9. Both cats are fixed and declawed. They get along well with each other but they have no exposure to other animals. Dexter is very nice and affectionate once he warns up to the person. Layla is more social but less affectionate.
Layla and Dexter are in the Pittsburgh area. For now, please contact me if you can help their person and either foster or adopt the two.

Can’t adopt? Foster! Can’t foster? Donate or volunteer.
There are so many ways you can help cats who need homes and care. You may not have room to adopt another cat, but can foster a cat or kitten for a few weeks. If not that, you can volunteer at a shelter or with a rescue, or donate. You do this because you love your cat, and by doing so you help all cats. No matter which of these actions you take, you help to save a life, and make life better for all cats.
- Adopt one of the cats I’ve posted here, or from any shelter or rescue near you, or from Petfinder, to open up a space for another cat to be rescued and fostered.
- Offer to foster cats or kittens for a shelter or rescue near you.
- Volunteer at a shelter or rescue.
- Find a group of volunteers who work with homeless cats and help them with their efforts.
- Donate to a shelter or rescue near you.
If you can foster kittens or adults cats to help prepare them for a forever home, please run to your nearest shelter and find a cat who needs you! Anyone can help with this effort at any level, even if all you do is donate to a shelter or rescue so they can help to pay for the food or medications needed for their foster, or the spay/neuter/veterinary care during a clinic.

We love tabbies. Nicky and Chizzy were tabbies. If I had a boyfurrend cat, he would be a tabby. Just moewin’. Mickey might be him. Hope Dexter and Layla find someone to love them.
It’s been a while since we had a tabby here, CK, and maybe you need to think a little more about Mickey–he looks like a nice guy! We hope for good things for Dexter and Layla too.
